Atalanta Acts of God: The Architecture of Perception

The purpose of this thesis is to analyze an important albeit yet unpublished opera script by Robert Ashley entitled Atalanta (Acts of God). This analysis will center upon the text by reviewing the main themes of the opera, relating the themes to the myth of Atalanta, and discussing the structure of the text in light of oral performance.
