Nevelson Art Project 1991
I just found this old VHS cassette that contained the local news reporting on a project I created for public school children using the center’s Nevelson sculpture as inspiration. Each student received a wooden box that they could fill with items excavated from barrels of discarded objects and newspapers and magazines. Many of those participating had a parent or relative engaged in the war in Iraq. This was a way to have the students work through their thoughts and feelings. Supported through the generous donation of the Johnson Foundation of Little Rock, Arkansas and members who provided the ‘raw materials.’
